Essentially, competitors must build a catapult (within set parameters) which launches a projectile to a certain destination (revealed on test day). Therefore, you have to engineer not only a catapult, but a mechanism on the catapult itself to manipulate the distance it travels.The closest to the destination wins. All and all, trajectory, while it might be a little complicated, is sure to not only improve your skills in understanding physics and mechanics, but also help you create memories you won't forget.
