  • Trajectory | Bhsso

5 years of COMBINED EXPERIENCE We have everything you need Trajectory Event Description: Type: Build Event Team: Two Individuals Either if you have passion for physics and mechanics or working with tools and building in general, trajectory is by far, one of the most interesting build events Science Olympiad has to offer! Essentially, competitors must build a catapult (within set parameters) which launches a projectile to a certain destination (revealed on test day). Therefore, you have to engineer not only a catapult, but a mechanism on the catapult itself to manipulate the distance it travels. The closest to the destination wins. All and all, trajectory, while it might be a little complicated, is sure to not only improve your skills in understanding physics and mechanics, but also help you create memories you won't forget. • Chemistry Lab | Bhsso

5 years of COMBINED EXPERIENCE We have everything you need Chemistry Lab Event Description: Type: Test + Lab Event Topic: Life Sciences Team: Two Individuals Chem Lab is an event that requires a lot of studying and I would only recommend it for students that are taking Chem AP or have completed it. The event has a schedule which changes the topics every few years, but the main topics that will likely be covered are: Aqueous Solutions, Redox Reactions, Acids and Bases, Physical Properties, and Thermodynamics. In some competitions Chem Lab will be an event where you have to make or test something and do a written portion as well. If you excel in advanced chemistry, this event will be right for you. Also this event really helps during the Chem AP class and test because it prepares you for flashcards and definitions and quantities ahead of time. Have Questions?
